Feel every moment of cricket more sharply. You can bet at pkluck across all three formats — T20, ODI and Test — using familiar Bangladesh mobile wallets.
Cricket's three formats and popular tournaments
Cricket is Bangladesh's most passionate sport. The excitement that builds across the country around every Tigers match can be felt beyond the ground too — through betting. Understanding the format makes placing bets much easier.
T20 is the fastest format — just 20 overs per innings. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are played in this format. Matches finish in a few hours, so you know the result the same evening.
ODI gives each team 50 overs. Most high-profile matches in the T20 World Cup and ICC tournaments are played in this format. The betting markets here are more varied too — from total runs to tenth-wicket partnerships.
Test cricket is played over five days. Team strength, pitch conditions and weather all come into play together. Test betting markets are a little different — a draw is possible, so there are three outcomes in the market.
Football and other sports — how they differ from cricket
Football Betting
Football has a draw market alongside win and loss — something not available in T20 or ODI cricket. Football also offers detailed markets like goalscorer, number of corners or yellow cards. In international football leagues, the table changes throughout the season, giving each match its own importance.
In cricket you can bet on individual performances — which batsman will score a century, which bowler will take a hat-trick. Football has goalscorer markets in a similar vein, but cricket's individual markets are comparatively richer.
Other sports markets
Betting markets for sports like tennis, badminton or kabaddi are relatively limited — bets are mostly placed on match winner and set-based markets. Ball-by-ball live markets like those in cricket are not available in most other sports.
Cricket's biggest advantage is that the situation changes with every ball — when a wicket falls or a six is hit, the odds shift immediately. This dynamic makes betting a parallel experience to watching the game.
Popular betting markets — what you can bet on in cricket
Below is a brief overview of the seven most familiar cricket markets at pkluck. A simple example is given alongside each one.
Match Winner
The simplest market — bet on which of the two teams will win. There is no draw in T20 or ODI, so there are only two outcomes. Example: Team A vs Team B — if Team A wins, that bet is successful.
Straight resultToss Winner
You can bet on the toss result before the match starts. It is independent of the match result — a separate market. Example: bet that Team A will win the toss.
Quick decisionTop Batsman
Bet on which batsman in a team will score the most runs. Example: who will score the highest for Team A — place your bet on a specific player's name in that market.
Individual performanceTotal Runs — Over/Under
The bookmaker sets a target, such as 160 runs. You bet whether the total will go over or stay under that figure. Example: Team A's innings total will be more than 160.
Run-basedMulti Bet
Combining results from multiple matches multiplies the odds. If you put three separate match bets on one slip, all three must win — if one loses, the entire bet is lost.
Multiple eventsMan of the Match
You can bet in advance on who will be officially named the best player at the end of the match. Example: who will have the best performance for Team B — bet on that player in the market.
Overall performanceWickets in an innings
The total number of wickets to fall in an innings or a specific over range is also a market. Example: how many wickets will fall in Team A's powerplay (first 6 overs) — more than 2 or fewer. This type of market is especially popular in live betting. pkluck Bet offers many such options in the live market.
How to read the three odds formats
Bookmakers display odds in three different ways — decimal, fractional and American. All three express the same outcome; only the notation differs. The two examples below will make the difference clear.
Team A to win, bet ৳1,000: Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150. If the bet wins, you get back ৳2,500 (৳1,500 profit + original ৳1,000 stake). If the bet loses, the full ৳1,000 is gone.
Team B to win: Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American -200 (American minus odds mean how much you need to stake to make 100 in profit). A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,500 (৳500 profit).
Decimal odds are the simplest — multiply them by your stake to get the total return. Fractional odds show profit as numerator over denominator. In American format, a positive number indicates the underdog and a negative number indicates the favourite.
Betting is a form of entertainment — not a guaranteed source of income. Before placing a bet, it is worth reading the responsible gaming guidelines.
Live in-play betting — odds change with every ball
The most engaging betting experience in cricket is live or in-play betting. During a match, the odds update instantly after every wicket, every boundary or every maiden over.
Say Team A has scored 80 runs in 15 overs and lost 5 wickets — chasing a target of 150 in the remaining 5 overs looks difficult, so the odds on Team B winning will shorten considerably (meaning Team B has become an even bigger favourite). Placing a bet at this moment can let you take advantage of the odds movement — but remember, the situation can turn around quickly.
Live markets typically include: runs in the next over, when the next wicket will fall, live match winner and current run-rate over/under. The betting window closes briefly between deliveries.
The best way to enjoy live betting is to follow the scorecard as you go. The pkluck App shows live updates and betting markets side by side on the same screen.
Cricket betting — some practical tips
- Understand the format before betting. In T20, the game can swing fast even after losing a few wickets. In Test cricket, the pitch behaves differently in the third or fourth innings — knowing this helps when choosing a market.
- Set a budget. Before each match, decide for yourself how much you will bet. Once you reach that limit, it is better not to increase your stake — betting is entertainment, not a way to recover losses.
- Be careful with multi bets. Combining many matches raises the potential return, but if any one result is wrong the entire bet is lost. It is better to practice with fewer selections at first.
- Do not rush in live betting. Odds move fast in-play, but before making a decision after each wicket check the full scorecard. Rushed bets tend to carry more risk.
- Use multiple markets. Instead of relying only on the match winner, also look at markets like total runs or top batsman. Gaining experience across varied markets makes the game more enjoyable.
- Know the rules. Before you start betting, read the terms and conditions carefully — especially under what circumstances a bet is void or pushed.
